FitMetrics is an educational resource. The calculators, articles, and other content on this site are provided for general informational purposes only. They are not medical advice, and they are not a substitute for professional diagnosis, treatment, or the judgment of a qualified healthcare provider who knows your individual circumstances.

Estimates, not measurements

Every value FitMetrics produces — body mass index, basal metabolic rate, body fat percentage, waist-to-height ratio, body composition type, calorie and macronutrient targets, heart rate zones, and weight projections — is an estimate derived from published, population-level formulas. These formulas describe averages across large groups of people. Your individual physiology may differ meaningfully from the average, and no equation can replace direct clinical measurement (such as DEXA, indirect calorimetry, or laboratory testing).

Use these numbers for self-education and to track your own trends over time under consistent conditions — not for diagnosis.

No physician–patient relationship

Reading this site, using its calculators, or contacting us does not create a physician–patient relationship. The content is authored and reviewed by a board-certified physician for general accuracy, but it is written for a broad audience and cannot account for your personal medical history, medications, or conditions.

Always consult a professional

Talk with your physician or another qualified healthcare provider before:

  • starting, stopping, or changing a diet, supplement, or exercise program;
  • acting on any estimate or recommendation you find here, especially if you are pregnant, under 18, over 65, or living with a chronic condition such as heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, an eating disorder, or a metabolic disorder;
  • interpreting any result as evidence of a medical problem.

If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your doctor or emergency services immediately. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read on this site.

Caloric and intake floors

Where the calculator displays a calorie deficit, note the minimum intake floors (approximately 1,200 kcal/day for women and 1,500 kcal/day for men). Eating below these levels without medical supervision is not recommended.

No guarantee of outcomes

Health and fitness outcomes depend on many factors outside any calculator’s inputs. FitMetrics makes no guarantee that following any estimate or suggestion will produce a particular result, and accepts no liability for decisions made based on this content. By using this site you agree to do so at your own discretion and risk.
